New for ISE 2023, Humly introduces a versatile new premium hardware solution that takes design considerations and use case opportunities for booking systems to new heights

PRESS RELEASE

Humly, a workplace experience company with more than a decade of innovation for modernizing business environments, comes to ISE 2023 with a new premium hardware booking solution that breaks new ground in size, adaptability, and affordability. The new Humly Booking Device addresses the evolving challenges of the hybrid workplace, providing staff and visitors with a versatile capacitive touchscreen solution to view and reserve available bookable spaces on campus. Its flexibility is balanced with a compact and stylish design that reduces the total cost of ownership to disruptive levels without compromising on quality or sustainability.

The Humly Booking Device was designed with exceptional versatility in mind. Its slim form factor houses a small, high-resolution LCD display (3.46 inches) and provides flexible mounting and positioning options that amplify the use case possibilities. Businesses can adapt the Humly Booking Device for meeting rooms small and large, including huddle spaces and focus rooms. Offices with shared desks and flexible workplace modules will unlock new opportunities to reduce staff frustration by installing the device at the precise locations where people work, with versatile tabletop, shelf, and under-surface mounting options.

Humly’s thoughtful engineering adds several advanced features that make the device even more impressive. For example, the Humly Booking Device integrates control functionality for adjustable desks, with automatic adjustments to each worker’s preferred height. By connecting a sensor – easily achieved thanks to its open API – users can book a phone booth or small focus room upon entrance.

No matter where mounted or located, the Humly Booking Device can be used to manage reservations for all bookable spaces from the parking garage to any number of meeting and gathering spaces. Its high-resolution display shows all inventory available to book, with touchscreen capability to initiate bookings. The device works seamlessly with Humly Reservations software to book any resource, ensuring a seamlessly integrated hardware and software solution that Humly will evolve to support more applications moving forward. The Humly Booking Device is also compatible today with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office 365, and Google Workspace to expand booking options and functionality.

Humly CEO Anders Karlsson notes that the company wanted to create a new product segment with the Humly Booking Device while retaining the style and design attributes that make Humly products instantly recognizable.

“Our mission is to deliver true innovation for the hybrid workplace that helps users find places to work and collaborate in simple ways and without distraction,” said Karlsson. “We think the Humly Booking Device fills an important gap in the market as an effortless device that does not require the user’s attention. We have engineered the device to be helpful and intuitive in many ways, from making it simple to book spaces, locate desks, and quickly view for information thanks to its bright user interface. We have also taken care to develop a sustainable product that will retain a timeless feel inside the workplace over its lifecycle.”

That “workplace” also doesn’t need to be a standard office building or campus, as Karlsson explains. “The Humly Booking Device can be used for more specialized use cases in hospitals and research laboratories, for example,” he adds. “We see opportunities for these devices outside examination and treatment rooms, or as shelf-mounted devices that indicate who has checked out equipment. In its simplest form, it can be a dynamic name tag for office rooms that show occupants and availability status. And with its open API, built-in functionality and mounting accessories, its integration possibilities are endless.”

Speaking of mounting options, the Humly Booking Device can be mounted horizontally or vertically on any material, including glass, textile, metal, and wood. As part of Humly’s sustainability efforts, the Humly Booking Device is PoE-powered and uses recycled plastic for the product design, which Karlsson cites as “an important milestone in our long-term vision for sustainability.”

Humly will demonstrate the Humly Booking Device on its ISE stand (2R650) in varied desk, wall, shelf, and phone booth mounting configurations, and provide visitors with a hands-on opportunity to explore its touchscreen-enabled feature set. Humly will also demonstrate its existing family of integrated Humly Workplace Solutions, including the award-winning Humly Room Display, Humly Visitor and Humly Floorplan, which will demonstrate interactive room bookings on a 43-inch touchscreen display.
